Bözberg Rail Tunnel (CH)

By order of the Swiss government, SBB is implementing a "4-meter corridor" on the Gotthard rail axis by 2020 so that semi-trailers can also be transported by rail in the future. The existing, two-lane Bözberg Tunnel in the canton of Aargau is not "4-meter-compliant". Therefore, a 2.7-kilometre double-track tunnel is being built in parallel.
