From a mechanical engineering study to the workbench - Pablo begins his apprenticeship at DEVO-Tech

Sometimes, finding the right career path involves a deliberate change of direction.

Pablo joined our team in August and is completing an accelerated apprenticeship as a plant and equipment technician (EFZ) at DEVO-Tech.

Pablo Steiner

Pablo already brings a diverse professional and personal background to the table. Most recently, he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Brugg-Windisch. During his studies, he realized that his interests lie less in theoretical planning and calculations and more in practical implementation.

He has long been involved with metalwork and technology. In his free time, he tinkers with and repairs bicycles, motorcycles, and cars, among other things, and also fabricates his own parts. Through various professional roles, he has also gained practical experience in a range of fields.

„I've realized that I enjoy hands-on work much more.“

Versatility as a Decisive Factor

Pablo made a conscious decision to pursue an apprenticeship as a plant and equipment builder (EFZ). He was particularly drawn to the versatility of the profession and the broad-based technical training it offers.

He finds exactly this diversity at DEVO-Tech: from rough metal fabrication to precision components, and from custom-made items to complex machines and systems, he is gaining experience in various areas of metalworking.

Two factors were particularly important to Pablo when choosing his career: enjoying his daily work and pursuing an apprenticeship with future prospects..

With an extraordinary goal in mind

Pablo already has an exciting vision for his future career: His goal is to become an industrial diver, combining his passion for skilled trades with his enthusiasm for diving.

The training program for plant and equipment builders provides him with a solid technical and practical foundation—and, at the same time, numerous opportunities to pursue different career paths later on.

Vocational Training at DEVO-Tech

As a company that offers apprenticeships, it is important to us to give young people and career changers the opportunity to learn technical trades through hands-on experience and to further develop their personal strengths.

Pablo’s story also shows that a vocational apprenticeship does not necessarily have to be the first step in a career. It can just as easily be a conscious decision made after gaining prior experience and can lay the foundation for a new career path.

We are pleased to welcome Pablo to DEVO-Tech, to support him throughout his training, and to wish him a successful start to his new career!
